All eight countries

Each country has its own page with 100 tags, 50 hashtags, title patterns and a CSV download.

What this tool does

This is the front door of the YouTube Trending Tags Index: pick a country and see the tags, hashtags, title statistics and channels behind the videos trending there right now. Everything is measured from the videos themselves, once a day, and every figure carries the timestamp of the fetch it came from.

How to use it

  1. Pick a country. India is selected by default; the tabs switch instantly.
  2. Read the top tags and hashtags. "Videos" is how many distinct trending videos carry that tag this week; "avg views" is the mean view count of those videos.
  3. Open the full country page for all 100 tags, 50 hashtags, the title-pattern table and a CSV download.

Limits you should know about

  • The index covers the Trending chart of eight countries — a few hundred videos per country per day, not all of YouTube.
  • Trending skews heavily toward music, film trailers and gaming, because that is what trends. It is a good picture of those niches and a thin one of, say, B2B tutorials.
  • Tags come from the uploader. Videos with an empty tag field contribute nothing to the tag counts.
  • Numbers move once a day at 03:00 UTC. Between fetches, the page shows the same data and says so.

Questions people ask

How often does this update?

Once a day at 03:00 UTC. Each country page prints the exact timestamp of the fetch it is reading from, so you never have to guess how fresh a number is.

Where does the data come from?

The official YouTube Data API v3, using videos.list with chart=mostPopular for each country — the same list YouTube shows on its own Trending tab. Nothing is scraped and nothing is bought from a keyword vendor.

Why only these eight countries?

They are the countries this site's visitors actually come from, and each one costs API quota every day. If you need another region, say so through the contact page.

Can I download the data?

Yes. Every country page has a CSV of its full tag and hashtag table, and there is a free JSON endpoint at /api/v1/trending-tags with no key and no sign-up.

Does a high tag count mean I should use that tag?

It means videos trending in that country this week are using it. That is evidence, not instruction. A tag that does not describe your video will not help you no matter how many trending videos carry it.

Everything here reads live data from the YouTube Data API or from the Trending Tags Index. No account is needed for anything on this site.
